Take a look at that countdown clock. Yikes, We've got some time off but it also feels bitter sweet because when that clock finishes, we'll only have thirteen episodes left EVER! That said, Kara is back! Team Supergirl is intact, the DEO is in ruins and the chess board has been set to play the final game we'll see on Supergirl. While we started this journey with Supergirl, and she remains our favorite, we have grown and caught the DC Comics TV bug. We hope you'll consider joining us in covering Superman and Lois at supermanandloistv.com. Also don't forget to check out Supergirl's future lead-in show, Stargirl over at stargirl.tv where we just shared a comic book vs tv comparison video! Until next time, here's our trailer for Supergirl's mid-season premiere:

Fear Knot Recap
5/11/2021 7:00 pm
Well here we go! On one hand, it's time to get Supergirl out of the Phantom Zone, David Harewood returns to the directing chair, and the end of maternity leave and quarantining Melissa is finally at an end. This also marks the mid-season finale for the final season of Supergirl. That countdown clock has been reset for the last hiatus we'll ever have. Yikes, that hurts to say. It will only hurt more when we switch the clock to counting up from when Supergirl last aired. But, let's not let that distract us from the 14 fantastic episodes of Supergirl we have remaining! How did Supergirl get out of the Phantom Zone? Did Zor-El join her? Who might be the final villain of the remaining thirteen episodes? Here's what stood out to us:
- Three-Day Trip: Time travel might be possible but Brainy accidentally spent three days back in Midvale with Nia. The team is anxious to get started on their rescue mission. It turns out that the tower is a Martian ship. It has two hours of shields to protect in the Phantom Zone. J'onn does his best Captain Picard impression and Alex takes on her Riker role and demands that the captain stay with the ship and Alex is a better touchstone for Kara than he is. Turbulence frees the Phantom and it infects Alex. Alex double crosses J'onn and traps him in the container. Alex being infected draws the Phantoms to the ship. Alex decides to sacrifice herself for the mission.
- Ten Minutes Earlier: We jump ten minutes into the past and follow Nia and Lena's journey. It seems like each team member is experiencing their worst fears. Alex's was that she couldn't be there for Kara. A coolant leak draws Lena away from the bridge. A water monster begins to attack. She experiences the fear of being alone and then drowning. So a water monster is there to claim Lena's fear.
- Ten Minutes Earlier Part 2: Brainy and Kelly discuss Kelly's grounding technique. This time Kelly and Alex are pealed away from the group and Kelly investigates why her shielding might have gone down. Kelly sees Lena and Dreamer as phantoms. Alex is turned as well in Kelly's vision. It turns out that Kelly's fear is that she doesn't contribute to the super team and that she can't reach her love Alex.
- Ten Minutes Earlier Part 3: After the low power surge Nia is targeted this time. Nia's dream warns something is wrong with the containment system and Brainy begins to doubt her. Her fear is that she can't control her powers and her dreams will put those she loves at risk because she never received the dream training she needs.
- J'onn and Brainy: This time it wasn't clear to see if J'onn and Brainy were affected or not. The rest of the crew looks to be in a fear dream. Brainy is compartmentalizing his fear which we hilariously discover is balloons. He is able to help J'onn but he sees balloons everywhere. J'onn goes to put the Phantom back in containment. If he does that the other might be able to break their fear dreams. J'onn goes god mode on the Phantom and throws fear back upon the Phantom trapping it. The team is able to break their dreams.
In the final wrap up moments, we join Kara as the anchor falls. Kara begins to lose hope for the first time, Zor-El tries to give his daughter hope back. Kara believes that her friends will die if they come to save her. Zor-El tells Kara that he's been healed because of Kara. Kara's hope is restored just as a Phantom army approaches. The Sun bomb goes off and Kara realizes her friends are here. Kara and Zor-El are saved and Nyxly hitches a ride as well.
